That Girl With A Camera

Out of the city and into the Nature. Before leaving Shànghǎi, I decided to walk to The Bund and watch the sun rise over Pǔdōng. It was a great idea and gave me te opportunity to feel the energy of one of Shànghǎi's busiest spots. It's easy to lose track of all the great photos you take on holiday, and I had almost forgotten about the one below: The colours on every single one of these photos mesmerize me. And also, notice how it was dawn and  there were already people walking around the riverside?! Early birds, indeed!! Could there be anything more touristy than eating KFC in the train? It tasted so good and kept us entertained for a few minutes. :) After what seemed like an eternity, we arrived at..... GUILIN!!! Home to some of China's wonders of Nature, it was a place we were really excited to visit! We were in no way disappointed, but maybe another day there would have been better (we arrived in the afternoon and left two days later before lunch). We booked a hostel and ...

Here they are: the pictures of the final 24 hours in Shànghǎi. Food, temples, exhibitions, streets and people... No photos were allowed so I can only tell you about the Propaganda Poster Art Centre. If you follow directions, you'll end up at a residential area but don't worry: there were no wrong turns and the PPAC is in the basement of one of the buildings in front of you. Their collection of posters is fantastic: a great view of China and its leaders and the view a whole country has of the outside world. Don't miss it if you're ever in town. The gift shop is perfect if you want to get some Shànghǎi Ladies postcards and small posters and even some propaganda postcards. We also visited the Jade Buddha Temple and boy was it impressive. As the name suggests, there's a buddha statue crafted from jade alone and it's one of the five statues that were shipped back to China in the turn of the 20th century. Hello, hello!! So, day three in Shànghǎi was spent partly in the Yu Garden and partly strolling around. The surroundings of the garden (above) look like those of a baazar! Feeling like I was inside a movie, the landscape and everything in the garden was so peaceful. My faithful yellow bag, a model I bought from SAMSONITE . Waterproof, full of pockets and extremely lightweight! Back in the outside: SO.MANY.PEOPLE!!!!! And the baazar feeling, once again! Pre-lunch game: something yummy! And I was able to meet friends who were also traveling in China :) Actual lunch: spice beef noodle soup!! Delish *thumbs up* Visited a temple and tossed a few coins inside the giant "pot" you see above. It is said that the higher the coin gets, the luckier you'll be! The funniest way to pick a drink! Only in Asia (or asian neighbourhoods)!!  Dinner was all kinds of yummy and after it was time to go to E.P.I.C...
