Image
Hello beauties, I have shared I am taking a trip this summer and at this point I am beyond excited. At the end of July, I will be going to China where I'll spend the following month traveling. THAT'S RIGHT!!ONE MONTH IN CHINA!! Nearly 17 years later, I'll be walking in chinese grounds. You probably read around here somewhere that I was born in Macau, so this is a big deal and it is long overdue. I can't wait to be there *squeals* Today marks the one month and a half milestone and it is feeling super real! So how am I preparing for this aventure? *cue The Lord of the Rings soundtrack* 1.  Plane tickets After deciding where you want to go, you should get the plane/train tickets. Given that I made the decision last year in August, there was a lot of time to scout for tickets. After searching and browsing sites and Pinterest, I found Hopper . Hopper is a great app. It predicts the changes in airfares, compares websites and let's you know the best time to actually buy y...

The travel diaries: preparations

Today's the day. I am actually inside the plane as I write this.  LONDON, HERE I COME!! Yes yes, it is my first time going there but, if I can be honest, just the idea of traveling is enough to get me all giddy and excited. So, how did I prepare for this trip? 1. Check the weather forecast!! As inconstant as London may be, it's always a good idea to know which clothes to bring! 2. Make a list of what you need to pack!   And this wasn't even complete at the time!! 3. Bring acessories good enough to fight the cold. Use a backpack. London is cold this time of the year and very windy. Enough said. Backpacks can carry a lot of items inside and you can wear them at the airport and while you're sightseeing, keeping your back painfree.  Well, I'll share some more tips next time. For now, sayonara Lisbon. M

5 fashion things having a job has taught me

Ever since I finished college and started working, some changes have happened in my fashion life. I am the youngest member of the staff, this is my first (almost) full time job and the environment, although casual and laid back, requires a certain discretion and poise on my part. #1 Working at a school and having to deal with the parents as well as with the kids, cleavage/see-throughs/extremely short shorts and skirts are frowned upon. The first two are just rude in a school environment. As for skirts and shorts, I wear them a lot during winter (with tights!), but it becomes tricky in spring. I only wear them when it's to warm to consider anything else. Harem/aladdin pants are also acceptable. Just remember: the shorter the bottoms, the more coverage you should have on your top, going for a boat or round neck tshirt. #2 Balance your makeup. I struggled a little with this one. As much as I love black eyeliner, even when I use a super thin brush, I rarely make a thin line. This m...

The traveling series #1

Image
Ever since I was little, I have had the opportunity to travel regularly and it became an activity I enjoy very much. Just the thought of entering an airplane makes me happy and excited, no matter how short the journey. This month I'll be travelling with my boyfriend and preparing the trip is being a thrill. Here are some tips if you have an upcoming trip or if you're thinking about going on one: - acquire city/country guides: there's one for every type of traveler  and they contain valuable information and maps. If you're more of a digital person, digital guides are also available to use on your smartphone or tablet. Tips about restaurants with access to some reviews, stores you must go to and maps are some of the things you can expect, and some apps don't even require internet access. - plan your trip: selecting activities for each day saves a lot of time and you'll be completely free to enjoy the trip to its fullest. Most monuments and museums have websi...
