That Girl With A Camera

Hello everyone!! I finally got around to pick and edit the photos from my summer trip: ONE MONTH IN CHINA!!! If you know me or have been following the blog (or IG/FB/twitter), you'll know by now that I have a huge love for all things Asian, mainly chinese. One month travelling means I came back with thousands of photographs (I went to 8 different cities), so be prepared for longer posts! Days 1 and 2 I arrived in Beijing on July 31st and ready for my biggest adventure yet. It was a warm yet cloudy day, good for a visit to the Temple of Heaven. Like many other monuments in Beijing, it has a surrounding park, with pavilions and shaded corridors for everyone to relax and enjoy food or a nice game of mahjong.  The Temple itself was magnificent, the blue and green of the roofs contrasting perfectly with the typical chinese red and gold. I have barely noticed how time has passed. Only now have I seen that my last post was in July, 4 months ago!! I know I have yet to show you all the amazing adventures I had in China, but for now I'll leave with a glimpse of what happened this past week. Layering season is officially here! Hello and happy sunday, beautiful people!! Looking at the dates of the last posts I can see how time has passed by. I barely noticed it and I am just a week away from flying to China. It's a good thing I'll have two days to prepare everything before heading to the airport but I have already started setting clothes aside...nothing like being prepared in advance. The last few weeks have been a mix of absolute caos and no time to rest with too much time to browse through Youtube. Gelato, cute sandals, experimenting with some 90's vibe, a haunted housed and a polaroid. If only all weeks were this way, a girl would be so very pleased!! XOXO, M

The moment I understand how busy a week has been is when I search for the images for this series. I get so busy I forget to take photographs. This week was a special one: with the end of Game of Thrones' Season 6, came the end of the podcast I've been collaborating on. Recording live was fun and the instant feedback made the conversation even more interesting. (Bottom row, middle picture) Because of my (recently acquired) spring allergies, my nose and eyes have been so itchy that I couldn't wear any makeup. Last week things calmed down and I could wear eyeliner again! :) Plus, I got to dress up with the pretty shoes you see in the picture. Hello beauties, I have shared I am taking a trip this summer and at this point I am beyond excited. At the end of July, I will be going to China where I'll spend the following month traveling. THAT'S RIGHT!!ONE MONTH IN CHINA!! Nearly 17 years later, I'll be walking in chinese grounds. You probably read around here somewhere that I was born in Macau, so this is a big deal and it is long overdue. I can't wait to be there *squeals* Today marks the one month and a half milestone and it is feeling super real! This is the general feeling I get everyday. First, I was 10 months away, then I blink and I'm 8 months away and buying a plane ticket. And now... Now I'm less than three months away from what could possibily be the adventure of a lifetime. Time is not only flying but the months are creeping up on me and whispering "Ssssurprise, it's getting closer". I'm getting giddy and feeling like I need to read and research as much as I can. Yes, I'm sort of a control freak when I travel and I have gone to the point where I plan out and entire day of sightseeing and include two option for restaurants (both for lunch and dinner), because food is important, you know? Like I said I'm less than three months away from traveling and I have prepared a few things for the month long journey, but the big aspects will be taken care of mid May and June. I don't know about you guys, butI haven't been feeling too inspired. Maybe it's because I'm tired or just overwhelmed at work, I really don't know. I find myself daydreaming about travels and new places to explore and missing the sun and warm days. This last issue has been resolved since the sun is shining in Lisbon and warm weather has arrived.
