I'm loving them...

We all have favourites, right? Favourite foods, music, places. And of course products. What I want to talk about are two products that have become the pillars of my morning routine. The only reason that keeps me from using them is lack of time due to those extra minutes of sleep! Curious much? Here they are: THE BODY SHOP Spa of the World - Japanese Camellia Cream and SLEEK Be Beautiful Blemish Balm. The BB cream: that's right. A BB cream. I asked a friend what she thought of the idea of me getting one. I have a normal skin and have been blessed with 0% achne. There are no spots or scars for me to cover, so the idea was to find a light product that gave my face an even tone, without making it look like I had a mask on. After reading reviews online, this was the best brand for normal skin: it doesn't turn orange over the day, easy to apply, dries fast and doesn't look to shinny or matte. The other plus was the fact that SLEEK is an affordable brand. I wasn't sure I...

Red is eternal, but orange is so fresh and just in time for summer! One shade, two textures. THE BODY SHOP Colour Crush #110 M.A.C Wash & Dry Lipgloss Laundry List A great shade from a great range of lipsticks. It gives colour to the lips without making them too bright. Hydrating, does not smuge and lasts hours, even if you eat and drink. If the first was a great choice for work, this shade is perfect for a night out. With a more intense colour, lasts hours, doesn't dry the lips and smells so good!! (All of M.A.C 's lipglosses and lipsticks smell great). Are you embracing this shade and wearing it this summer? XOXO, M

We all hear about the benefits of ginseng: tones the skin, revitalizes and refreshes. Imagine those properties combined in a mask... For the eyes! What you see above is what you get! Following a trend of facial masks I have seen at SKIN79 , it's time for SEPHORA to come up with their own range of face and eye masks. My experience with the first brand was inconclusive, I saw no results, so I was a little unsure of what to expect from this one. The package:  Bright yellow, black and white letters, the usual for SEPHORA . The problem is reading the instructions. The font is extremely thin and small and when paired with the brightness of the yellow background, reading is a hard task. The patches: there's a pair inside, single use. The smell is pleasant, for those who like ginseng, of course.  Me before the mask: I look tired and my eyes are puffed. Courtesy of lack of sleep/need of holidays! Patch applied: here's where the instructions come in hand. It took me a second look at ...

Two more items from the Toledo edition for M.A.C have found their way to my place. This has to be one of my favourite collaborations: the colours, textures, packaging... Everything is gorgeous! Today I want to talk about Victoriana but you'll also see Venus Red in the pictures ( but no swatches, that review will come later, maybe). A gloss and a nailpolish. Both red. Victoriana has a darker edge to its colour, fading into a cherry-like colour after a few hours. I honestly see no down sides to this product: it has a thicker texture than other glosses I've tried, so it does not smuge. The sticky feeling is fine, nothing to say here. What I liked, aside from the colour - so beautiful - was the effect on the lips. I have thick lips, no need to wear products to make them look bigger, but this gloss made them look so plumped and pretty.  Again, no smudging, no risk of looking like a clown! ;) I'm becoming a fan of these glosses, well done M.A.C! *thumbsup* XOXO, M

The beginning of a new year brings the birthday of my dear boyfriend and, since I like to plan something special, looking for a nice restaurant was a task I needed to undertake. Lisbon has an enormous variety of restaurants to choose from and this time I wanted to take F out for a good meal, in a good place. Being that this beautiful city of mine is located near the river, my choice fell on a restaurant with either a terrace or a nice view of the coastline. The title of the post is a quote taken from  The Expression of Emotion in Man and Animals , by Mr.Charles Darwin, and fits the subject perfectly, since we had lunch at Darwin's Cafe. Located in the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown (Algés), Darwin's Cafe is a beautiful restaurant with modern decoration and a relaxed atmosphere, while still maintaining a touch of sophistication. Besides the interior room there's a beautiful terrace, perfect for a coffee or tea (meals are only served inside).   Pictures...
