The travel diaries: China - Yangshuo days 1 & 2

Here I am, back after a big hiatus due to an obscenely huge amount of work!

Aaaah, Yangshuo... I read about it and I knew it was beautiful but most references I found were about Guilin and how great and beautiful and touristy it was... I was not, hear me, NOT prepared for the magic and absolute beauty of Yangshuo. I have probably said this about every city/town I went to in China, but it was how I felt. Alway a wonder, a constant and new wonder at every turn of the road.


Can you tell me the views are not beautiful?
Can you tell I was always taking photos and Pedro was kind of sick of it?


 Whaaaaaaaaat?...


 So. Many. People!!!!!


Chinese burger thing...delish!!! Street food is awesome in China. And by 'awesome' I mean cheap, diverse and delicious!


Back in the hotel...time for the girliest cocktail I have ever had... but great, really yummy!
This was all done in the same day as the Li River Cruise... we never stop because there's too much world to see and we can sleep when we are back home!


Breakfast of champions, cheers to the hotel for providing such a great selection of breakfast dishes, including chinese options like noodles and steamed buns with various fillings.


 Starting to feel more like the countryside here...the scenery changed so fast: city like one second, followed by countryside roads...


 This is one of my favourite pictures... the relaxed environment, the men just enjoying their day...


Yup, we did it! we took a ride on the bamboo rafts!!


 Felt so good to dip my feet in the water!


 I have the sexiest friends ever! *grins*

 Noodles, white rice, lotus roots and potatoes... and beer!! Cheers to a lunch at a restaurant on the side of the road, totally recommend it!

What do you do in a town know for its night/strip clubs? You go to one!

Being an enthusiast of all things from The Body Shop, I'm always looking forward for new products and ranges. Recently, the brand launched their Smoky Poppy line, with Turkish poppies and just in time for Valentine's day. I have featured the body lotion on this month's wishlist, but along with the line came another product. These Velvet Sticks are suitable for lips and cheeks. The colours look vivid here, but I tested them in the store and was a little disappointed. Tuesday with a little Tease

Enjoying my first day off from work, I went with a friend to a bakery called TEASE . It's a rock 'n' roll bakery (so they say) and in fact, the only reason I noticed it was because they were playing Guns N' Roses one night (it's open until 11pm, perfect for a snack at night). But here's the thing: although they call themselves a rock 'n' roll bakery , the inside suggests a whole different thing! The decoration is very vintagelike, the food looks delicate and yummi... Cupcakes, muffins, milkshakes and teas, toats, salads, all of this to the sound of Florence and the Machine, Friendly Fires and many others. Perfect for an afternoon with a friend or a date with your sweetheart! This time, pictures will be mainly of food but more will come, featuring the decoration and furniture! 5 fashion things having a job has taught me

Ever since I finished college and started working, some changes have happened in my fashion life. I am the youngest member of the staff, this is my first (almost) full time job and the environment, although casual and laid back, requires a certain discretion and poise on my part. #1 Working at a school and having to deal with the parents as well as with the kids, cleavage/see-throughs/extremely short shorts and skirts are frowned upon. The first two are just rude in a school environment. As for skirts and shorts, I wear them a lot during winter (with tights!), but it becomes tricky in spring. I only wear them when it's to warm to consider anything else. Harem/aladdin pants are also acceptable. Just remember: the shorter the bottoms, the more coverage you should have on your top, going for a boat or round neck tshirt. #2 Balance your makeup. I struggled a little with this one.
