The travel diares: Home

Macau.

My Home. The place in the world where it feels most like Home to me.
Where I was born and lived until I was 9 years old.

Despite having lived most of my life in Lisbon, Macau will always feel like Home. A happy place.

I returned to Macau for the first time in 2016. I spent 17 years dreaming of my return.

After a very emotional return, I wasn't expecting the second time to feel the same.

But it did. Just as emotional, just as wonderful and all I could've wanted. I was Home.

I didn't sightsee as much as the first time, mostly it was a time to relax. But I was back and happy.

Witnessing the portuguese heritage in Macau.

Albus demanded I take him to the Ruins of St. Paul's Church.

Alleyways with mixed architectural elements.

Temple and incense.

Last time I visited, this temple was already closed.
Finally, I did get in and look around.

Not that I am a fan of casinos, but The Venetian is trully monumental.

This has got to be one of my favourite views in all of Macau and the islands. To left, is one of my all time favourite restaurants. I mean it. It's a must-go place if you visit Macau. Nga Tim Cafe has been around for decades and there's a good reason for it. If you're lucky enough, the owner might just grab his guitar and sing around the tables and sit for a while.

And now, from the archives of my phone, here are some more pictures.
Mainly of food, because it's the best!

The view I had from last house in Macau (actually, it was in one of the islands, Taipa, and what you see is Macau). I went to visit my friend's parents, we were lived side by side.

Sadly, one of the girls is missing in this picture (it was taken in HK and she lives in Macau). But, hopefully, we will have a photo of the fantastic five soon enough. Love you ladies, miss you terribly.

Last diary of my holidays. Hope you enjoyed looking at the pictures.
See you all very soon,

M
