A wish your heart makes

Making wishlists is easy. Going from that to the point where you actually purchase the items, is another.
I crave way too many things, so it takes some thinking to actually sort out the things I need. The item presented here was craved more than needed, but it was also an opportunity I could not pass.


It was probably last year that I heard about this collection. A friend shared the link on facebook and my eyes started to sparkle and in my head I said "I'm going to buy a pair". I could have easily set the idea aside after a few months, had I not subscribed to VANS' site to receive the latest news. And if it weren't a The Beatles collection.
The important thing here is that I absolutely adore The Beatles. I don't claim to know all about them, but I do own the digitaly remastered stereo discography that came out in 2009, plus tshirts. A pair of shoes was the next thing.

I have heard their songs all my life ("There are places I remember/All my life"), a couple of songs have been set as my alarm and my dad's ring tone is Two of Us, from the album Let it Be. I am only 23 years old, but I cannot deny the influence The Beatles have had in music but also sociologically, historicaly, even in fashion (I mean, those hairstyles and John Lennon's glasses...). This season, OYSHO has a few items with a quote from John Lennon - it's not The Beatles, but still pretty close.

I am just thrilled to have these shoes. The pictures actually do them justice concerning colours, but they're even prettier live! Perhaps an outfit post feautring them sometime soon?

Being an enthusiast of all things from The Body Shop, I'm always looking forward for new products and ranges. Recently, the brand launched their Smoky Poppy line, with Turkish poppies and just in time for Valentine's day. I have featured the body lotion on this month's wishlist, but along with the line came another product. These Velvet Sticks are suitable for lips and cheeks. The colours look vivid here, but I tested them in the store and was a little disappointed. Tuesday with a little Tease

Enjoying my first day off from work, I went with a friend to a bakery called TEASE . It's a rock 'n' roll bakery (so they say) and in fact, the only reason I noticed it was because they were playing Guns N' Roses one night (it's open until 11pm, perfect for a snack at night). But here's the thing: although they call themselves a rock 'n' roll bakery , the inside suggests a whole different thing! The decoration is very vintagelike, the food looks delicate and yummi... Cupcakes, muffins, milkshakes and teas, toats, salads, all of this to the sound of Florence and the Machine, Friendly Fires and many others. Perfect for an afternoon with a friend or a date with your sweetheart! This time, pictures will be mainly of food but more will come, featuring the decoration and furniture! 5 fashion things having a job has taught me

Ever since I finished college and started working, some changes have happened in my fashion life. I am the youngest member of the staff, this is my first (almost) full time job and the environment, although casual and laid back, requires a certain discretion and poise on my part. #1 Working at a school and having to deal with the parents as well as with the kids, cleavage/see-throughs/extremely short shorts and skirts are frowned upon. The first two are just rude in a school environment. As for skirts and shorts, I wear them a lot during winter (with tights!), but it becomes tricky in spring. I only wear them when it's to warm to consider anything else. Harem/aladdin pants are also acceptable. Just remember: the shorter the bottoms, the more coverage you should have on your top, going for a boat or round neck tshirt. #2 Balance your makeup. I struggled a little with this one.
