Today I saw the first exhibition in 25 years of a very important portuguese artist: José de Almada Negreiros. For those who studied even just a little of Portugal's 20th century history, this is a familiar name. He was not only a painter but he also made drawings, cartoons, story boards, movie posters, stained glass, ceramics, coreographed ballets... He even worked for Paramount Pictures. He was part of a group of artists that defined the new aesthetic for the portuguese art scene in the 20th century. Although a wonderfully curated exhibition, the best moment to me was seeing in real life a painting called "Maternity". I had only seen it in my History books. And there it was. The characteristic voluptuous woman, the massive feet and the oh so delicate facial features of both the mother and child... there's no photo I can take that makes this painting justice, so just go ahead and see it. The travel diaries: Japanese Impressions part 3

This has got to be the most physically challenging thing I have done so far. Sports aren't my thing and yet I thought "Let's do this". My friends were crazy enough to agree and the four of us set out to climb Mount Fuji. That's right. Climb. Mount Fuji. At 3,776m, it is Japan's tallest mountain. We didn't hike all the way, we started around 2,000m but it was a real challenge.  Of course, Albus tagged along.  It took us 8hrs to reach the summit and witness a trully beautiful sunrise. Cheers to the Chinese ladies who told us to turn around and witness it at the perfect moment! The travel diaries: China - Yangshuo days 1 & 2

Here I am, back after a big hiatus due to an obscenely huge amount of work! Aaaah, Yangshuo... I read about it and I knew it was beautiful but most references I found were about Guilin and how great and beautiful and touristy it was... I was not, hear me, NOT prepared for the magic and absolute beauty of Yangshuo. I have probably said this about every city/town I went to in China, but it was how I felt. Alway a wonder, a constant and new wonder at every turn of the road. Can you tell me the views are not beautiful? Can you tell I was always taking photos and Pedro was kind of sick of it?  Whaaaaaaaaat?...  So. Many. People!!!!! Chinese burger thing...delish!!! Street food is awesome in China.
